Collinsville Lake Trails ~Collinsville, OK

We hiked at the Collinsville Lake trails for the first time on Saturday! We followed all the outside trails for a big loop. The kids all seemed to enjoy it and it smelled amazing from all the flowers right now. I liked that the trails were mostly wide enough that you did not have to brush up against plants and worry about ticks as much. The kids found a turtle laying eggs.

I really enjoyed this hike!

Has anyone else checked this one out yet?

Deep Fork Wildlife Refuge ~Okmulgee, Ok

We got out on a hike a little bit ago on one of my favorite spots in our area. Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge. I love the boardwalk trail, so pretty. And the whole walk smelled like honeysuckle this time! We are pretty loud so we usually scare the animals away before we see them. We drove a bit more and went to on the Railroad Trail also, it is such a pretty trail. It is another easy walk. I grabbed Little Bit right before she stepped on this guy. We think he was either a water snake or a cottonmouth. Of course all four of my other kids walked right by him without seeing him… The twins decided to stick a bit closer after that. I don’t know if you can tell but in the above pic we were getting rained on.

It did not last long though.

There were a lot of tadpoles in this puddle by the entrance!

It was a beautiful day!

The Floor is LAVA!

My kids enjoyed checking out the new exhibit at the Tulsa Children’s Museum! It is kind of a parkour obstacle course. My oldest was the only one tall enough to reach the top. Basically all of his door frame climbing finally came in handy. The ropes area seemed to be a favorite. My kids used hot glue guns in the lab.

It kind of freaked me out, don’t get any ideas kids…

I even let the girls do it!

Not my house so basically not my mess…

Ha

Do you have an obstacle course lover?

You should check out Discovery Labs new exhibit while it is here.
