The Floor is LAVA!

My kids enjoyed checking out the new exhibit at the Tulsa Children’s Museum! It is kind of a parkour obstacle course. My oldest was the only one tall enough to reach the top. Basically all of his door frame climbing finally came in handy. The ropes area seemed to be a favorite. My kids used hot glue guns in the lab.

It kind of freaked me out, don’t get any ideas kids…

I even let the girls do it!

Not my house so basically not my mess…

Ha

Do you have an obstacle course lover?

You should check out Discovery Labs new exhibit while it is here.

Going to the Circus ~Tulsa, Ok Discovery Lab

We had not been to the Discovery Lab in a while and were surprised to catch this fun exhibit right before it ended! It was all about the science behind the circus and was a huge hit with my kids! So much so that we ended up going 4 or 5 times in the week before it left. The high wire and the cables were the favorites for my twins. We even brought a friend and she loved it too! These guys went crazy in the dress up area once. So fun!!!

It is gone now but they have a fun “Floor is Lava” exhibit now that is kind of a parkour type obstacle course.

I will share more about that later!

Did you check out the circus exhibit while it was there?

Tulsa Children’s Museum ~Discovery Lab

We just recently went to the Tulsa Children’s Museum with some friends!

Unfortunatly I did not realize when I went they have joined the Oklahoma Museum Network so we did not have to pay to get in!

If you like to go to museums be sure to check out their site!

This is our second time getting it and we always get our money’s worth!

We got there around 10am and it was really crowded!

There were some field trips there though.

They left around noon and it was really nice.

inside

Most of the activities are located in one big room.

It is mostly just hands on things for the kids to play with.

I was a little disappointed in the lack of educational information available in this room.

The boys loved the tape tunnel and slide!

I would have really liked to see a little bit of information about air pressure in this tubes area.

The boys did not really understand that by covering one tube you were changing the pressure in another tube.

build

When you first walk into the museum there is a little room to your right.

It is the Imagination Station area and seems more like you would expect a typical children’s museum to be.

It had information about what they were learning and had a lot of educational activities for them to do.

Overall it was a pretty good way to spend a couple hours.

I am really glad they are a part of the network though.

It is a pretty good deal to buy a membership at one of the network museums and then add on the museum network membership for $40.

That $40 gets you and 4 people into all the network museums for 1 year.

Don’t forget to check out their, site!
