My Birthday ~My boys and I

We went on a trip to Beavers Bend State Park in southern Oklahoma for my birthday.

I handed my husband the camera several times because I wanted to make sure I was in some shots.

I made the mistake of telling the boys they were knocking me over when they pushed on me…

So of course they tried to push me over.

A lot of deer! They were everywhere and seemed pretty used to people.

Our Christmas card pic minus Nick…

I tried to get a shot with all of us but this was the best I could do.

I look mad because I just ran across a stream after pushing the button on the camera (forgot my remote) and Justin is making an odd face.

At least it shows we were all there.

He made me laugh.

I will blog more pics and details about the hike on my outdoor blog.

Joining Emily over at the Anderson Crew to get in the shot!

My boys and I at the zoo

This beautiful tree was all lit up outside our zoo when we went this week.

I decided it would make an amazing backdrop for a couple pics with my boys.

I handed my oldest the camera first (I like to live on the edge like that).

My oldest could not figure out what to do with my auto focus camera!

He has an older camera that is completely manual.

He has a little trouble focusing but does amazing at adjusting all the settings!

Blows me away!

He likes to take a LOT of pictures!

It was making me laugh.

Then my boys switched and it was my youngest turn.

When I want them to take some pictures, I set the camera to the settings I want and tell them where to stand.

He did a really good job focusing.

Checking out the chimps.

We watched the baby Jaguars for a long time!

They are so cute!

I want one…

One of the zoo keepers were walking around with a Kite.

My youngest tried to pet it.

Thankfully he stopped him before he lost a finger.

No, we do not pet birds of prey…

Make sure you get in pictures with your kids!!!

Watching the sunrise and listening to stories

I set up my tripod a little bit too late on this morning so I was afraid he would not want in any shots.

He sits with me every morning right when he wakes up.

It is pretty much the only time he is still all day…

I knew I could get lots of light in his face if I pointed out the sun rising over the trees.

We watched it peeking out of the clouds together.

I thought I would be able to get a shot with my oldest when he got up but he wanted to tell me a story instead.

It required acting it out.

He apparently got up just like a transformer this morning.

This is the reality of most of my shots.

Waiting for the boys to want to join me.

I do not force it, I just try to make it fun.

“Come here, I want to show you to see the sunrise peeking through the clouds!”

They see the camera so they know what I really want but thankfully they still indulge me.
