30 Day Project ~Day 3 “Magic Tree House”

day3aboveOne of my favorite tips I read when I was first learning about photography was to change your angle.

day3To this day I still try to look from as many angles as possible.

downlowI was laying under the table for this one.

My boys are so used to my odd behavior they do not even notice.

handThat this boy is reading Magic Tree House books all on his own still gets to me.

readingI brought them with me to the dentist the other day and they both read for the whole hour.

aboveWhile in the waiting room I had no clue what to do with no one needing or wanting my attention.

30 Day Project ~Day 2 “School”

lookHere is my pic I used for my 30 Day project of my kids.

My youngest doing his handwriting.

handwritingWe use Handwriting Without Tears.

The boys seem to like the workbooks.

They were both getting bored with the printing books so I bought the KickStart to Cursive workbook.

withouttearsThey flew through it in two weeks.

They would have finished it in one day but I made them do other school work.

I am mean like that.

schoolI did not have the next cursive workbook for them both and needed them to slow down!

happy laughThey have really enjoyed it so I am going to continue to the 3rd grade cursive book.

They were pretty much done with their 2nd grade print workbooks anyway and get plenty of practice printing with their copywork and spelling.

writing2It is nice to see them both enjoy writing again.

Cursive is such a fun way to write!

Self Portrait ~Day 30 and the right white balance

This is my last picture for this project!

30 Days.

I was in a shaded area with a lot of sunlight behind me when I shot this.

I would usually have my camera set to Cloudy White Balance (White Balance determines how cool or warm a picture should be).

I forgot to change it and the white balance was set for full sun.

This is my picture set to the wrong white balance.

I had edited it before I realized I did not really like it and chose to change the white balance.

Here is another picture I took with only the white balanced fixed to cloudy.

No other touch ups were made.

Here is the original with no touch ups set to full sun.

Do you have a camera that lets you set the white balance?
