We went to visit the Batfish for their Living History Day Saturday!

I really like these events and highly recommend going during one.

My husband was able to come with us this time!

He said he had not been on a naval vessel in a long time.

The volunteers are so nice at these events!

Great job guys!

My youngest boy kept asking how powerful all the weapons were.

Thanks for answering all of those questions!

Another “How powerful would you say…” question.

Early mornings

I handed off my camera to my 8yr old and snuck in some pics with my oldest before our day really got going.

Early morning light in this spot has always been my favorite.

My goal was to take pics with each of my kids in the month of January.

I finally finished yesterday.

1 month is not too bad right?

Ha!

Heyburn Lake ~Rattlesnake Trail

After trying out the Rattlesnake Trail in the spring before and getting covered in ticks, I really wanted to try it in the winter.

Tick free but the tall grass and thorns were a bit much for some of my kids to handle.

I probably need to pick a bit easier trail for them until they get used to hiking a bit more.

The boys liked the challenge though.

They see it all as an adventure though and get bored on easy trails fast.

So if you want to avoid ticks now is the time but you might have to deal with overgrown trails and briar’s.

This trail is located North of Sheppard’s point just before the boat ramp.
