Ray Harral, I wore a skirt and boots…

I went with totally impractical at our most recent walk at Ray Harral Nature Park.

We were walking pretty slow so it was not too bad…

Sometimes I choose cuteness over comfort.

Sometimes, not often.

I like comfort.

In actuality I wanted the comfort of tights but thought it looked silly without boots.

HA!

I did choose comfort!

Just not for my feet…

Have you ever worn something completely impractical?

Heyburn Lake ~Rattlesnake Trail

After trying out the Rattlesnake Trail in the spring before and getting covered in ticks, I really wanted to try it in the winter.

Tick free but the tall grass and thorns were a bit much for some of my kids to handle.

I probably need to pick a bit easier trail for them until they get used to hiking a bit more.

The boys liked the challenge though.

They see it all as an adventure though and get bored on easy trails fast.

So if you want to avoid ticks now is the time but you might have to deal with overgrown trails and briar’s.

This trail is located North of Sheppard’s point just before the boat ramp.

Christmas Day.

4wheel reading gifts turkey rocks withgrands hike

Since most places were closed on Christmas Day and we needed something to do with 9 children, we went to Turkey Mountain for a hike.

I took some of them on a “short cut” which probably was not shorter by the time I was done.

I think I should stay away from the upper trails there and stick to what I know.

I then proceeded to go to the theater with my sister in-law on Christmas day.

Just us.

I enjoyed it, although I was left with more questions then answers…

I did question my choice of a crowded theater for my first alone time in a while…

This Christmas was so different then previous ones.

It still had the important things though, family and being outside.
