“Nothing Gold Can Stay”

I have a lot of other things I should be blogging about.

I am way behind in our curriculum posts.

But I looked out my window this morning and saw the beautiful sun rising over the new snow.

All I could think was that line in Robert Frost’s Poem “Nothing gold can stay.”

So I went for a walk around our yard, trying to capture the magic that was happening before me.

This above image is the one I pictured in my head before I went out.

I knew I wanted to use my 50mm 1:1.4, just for this image.

I am glad I was able to find it!

The birds were serenading me the whole time.

Beautiful.

What an amazing way to wake up.

Following the sunlight through the snow.

I decided I wanted to add something to my non-existent bucket list.

Watch the sun rise and set every day for a month.

A sunny weekend

These pics make me laugh since it is currently raining, and they are calling for freezing rain and snow.

But a few weeks ago we had very warm weather and my husband started building me an Adirondack loveseat!

If you follow me on Instagram then you have already seen a peak at it.

plans

He is building it so that I have a place to sit while watching the boys play on the zipline and fort.

He found a local man that was selling lumber he had cut himself into slabs.

base

It is beautiful cedar.

While my husband was making all of this progress at the dry fit(he will take it all apart and glue it together after he is done making sure it all works), my boys were doing something a little less productive…

After they got good and dirty, they decided to try their hand at leaf carving.

I love it when they get really close to each other and doing something like this.

It is easier to take pictures of them when they are not running around like crazy.

knees

I will miss dirty hands, faces, and knees, especially ones sticking out of torn jeans.
