Boardwalk Trail at the Wildlife Refuge

I asked the boys if they wanted to hike in the same place or something different.

The yelled different!

So we turned right instead of left in search of a new adventure.

It had been a little while since our last visit to the Wildlife refuge in Okmulgee so I was excited to go again.

“PAY THE TOLL”

It is such a beautiful place.

I love having my own photographer around.

My youngest is starting to be a real character in front of the camera.

We got off the boardwalk and took a path for a little bit.

My boys were Jedi Knight training the whole time.

This one was taken by my oldest also.

I love when he gets creative with my camera.

Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge ~Vian, OK

We went to the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge for the first time back in February of 2009 for the eagle watch tours.

My boys were so tiny!

I believe the tours run in January and February.

Then and Now!!!

We stopped by the refuge on the way to Beavers Bend State Park for my birthday this month.

They have several nature trails.

We were only able to go on one before it started POURING!

He was concerned she would hurt her feet on the rough metal bridge…

So of course I took pictures of him carry our very heavy dog over a very wobbly bridge!

They have an auto tour that we like to drive on.

We saw, ducks, geese, hawks, and an owl.

It is a really pretty refuge!

If you live nearby be sure to check it out!

Especially during the upcoming months when the Eagles will be there.

Next time I want to be sure and bring binoculars for the boys to use!

I think they would have more fun on the auto tour that way.

Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge Take 2 ~Okmulgee, OK

I mentioned this trail in this post.

I could not just leave it at that though. I needed to go!

I am so glad I did.

It is a beautiful place.

Why do I not go here all the time?

We went a while ago when my youngest was still a baby.

Look at those little chubby cheeks!

bikeWhen did he get so big?

I love swampy places.

Nice easy path’s.

An animal blind.

We might have seen some if I had not accidentally knocked one of the windows closed with a crash.

Beautiful way to end a weekend.
