Chandler Park Splash Pad! ~Tulsa, OK

Chandler Park has a new splash pad and it is amazing! It just opened so it was really full but my kids did not seem to mind at all! In fact I think this splash pad has ruined them for all others. It was perfect for my older kids but might be hard with little ones.

They do have areas that are little kid friendly though but they could easily get to the big kid areas and some of those slides are really intense for little ones.

This does appear to be a recirculating water park (chlorine) so keep that in mind if you have kids with sensitive skin.

My twins used to not be able to play on those.

This is how she actually feels about water.

She wants to play but is not sure about getting wet.

HaRight next to the splash pad is a playground which is nice.Going back for round 2.The best part is this awesome park is free!

So if you don’t mind crowds, check it out!

playground

I had been to this riverside park a while ago but did not get to spend much time checking it out.

We went back last month.

climb

It is a pretty park with some nice playground equipment but I felt like my boys were a little old for the park.

The water features especially seemed geared more for little ones.

It worked out okay since not many of the kids wanted to play in the water that day but the boys would have been really bored if they were not allowed to splash due to small kids.

kick

I allowed it as long as no other kids were nearby.

Their vivid imaginations came in handy as well.

They pretended to be alligators for a long time and that made it a fun place for them.

This would not have worked again if their were many kids around since they were taking up a whole water feature.

sleep

They enjoyed it since it was something new and different but I am not sure we will make this a regular stop.

If you have little ones that do not really like the big splashpads with lots of water going everywhere than I think this would be a great place for you to bring them!

I have read that the water stays on until October 1st, does anyone know if that is true?

All the other splashpads turn off after Labor Day.

This post makes me miss the carefree days of summer.

We are on our third week of school and still feeling the adjustment.

Only 170 more school days until summer…

Heritage Park Splashpad ~Day 2

My oldest nephew was not sure about the whole splashpad thing until I showed him pictures.

Of course once we got there he embraced the whole idea…

coming

This is him and my oldest.

People guessed they were brothers because of the hair.

excited

They indulged us really.

Can’t you just see the boredom on their faces…

joy

They were very good sports though and made it through.

happy

What did we do the rest of the day?

The adults crashed while the boys spent most of their time playing with Lego’s.

Lego’s saved the adults I think.

We were worn out from all of that sitting and watching…
