Nifty Fifty and Snow

I used my 50mm 1.4 for all of these.

I had not used it in a while since it does not work with my new camera but I have missed it.

 

Waiting to go out and play in the snow is hard.

I love capturing little moments like my youngest trying to buckle her snow pants.

I talked them into going into the backyard because the light is prettier.

Ha

There is not a giant sledding hill back there though so they did not last long.

I found a pretty spot and basically begged my kids to come over there.

He is my little model dog 😉 I am so glad we got two days of snow!

Definitely worth postponing school for.

I almost missed this.

We got a little bit of snow Sunday and usually this would just make me over the moon.

I did not even care.

That is when I was like maybe I am pretty sick.

Our puppy Milo was super excited and was just flying around eating and playing in the snow.

My kids were excited to get out in it before it melted(because it always melts quickly in OK).

And I was really contemplating not going out in it.

Which is kind of crazy for me.

I LOVE snow!

Thankfully I talked myself into going out just for a “second” and at least taking a few pics. I could have missed all of these adorable moments.

All of those belly laughs. All of those funny sledding faces. And the pokey pup stealing the sled.

I am so glad I talked myself into going outside. Pretty sure there was barely enough snow to sled with but they made it work.

Our pup kept barrelling into people sledding down! So fun.

I will treasure these.

Hiking, My Family

I got cocky…

That was my first mistake.

Nick had just been gone for a whole week earlier this month so one night seemed almost too easy.

Then 4 kids got colds and the weather turned nasty.

On Tuesday after dropping him off at the airport I decided to take advantage of being in town and went for a hike at Oxley Nature Center.

We took the Bird Creek Trail.

Tuesday actually went okay but the next day I decided to do a normal school day and we stayed home. Apparently we do better when we only do fun things all day.

Who knew?
Next time he leaves I am running around like a crazy person again and doing ALL THE THINGS.

Plus, being in the woods just makes me happy.

I should just hike the whole time he is gone.

Or I should live in the woods.

Ha

Wednesday was cold and overcast with freezing drizzle off and on all day.
All this energy should not be kept inside all day… At least our puppy is cute. Glad we are back to 2 adults per 5 kids.

These cuties wore me out.
