Boys Room Before&After

This is a picture of the boys room from over a year ago.

Someone(me) forgot to take pictures before everything was taken out for the new floor to be put in.

After! I love it!

My husband made the bunk beds(we will get twin mattress’ eventually) and put in Engineered wood floors.

I did the map wall.

Please do not look too close.

I love it, I really do but I am a little too impatient and really bad at planning.

So there are some wrinkles and maybe not all of the maps are perfectly straight.

I did find this link from someone that seems to know what they are talking about a little bit more than me if you are interested in how to do this.

These next two pictures look about the same but I did have their dresser in that spot right before we redid it.

I just forgot to take a picture…

The picture on the left is the older one.

I decided to put the toy bins in their closet now instead of on their bookcase.

Another attempt to battle the mess of toys that goes throughout the whole house.

I am hoping that by making them less accessable they will not trip me as often.

We will see if it works.

Did you notice the little boy in the picture? I can’t believe how big he has gotten! Look at that little tummy…

I wonder if I can go back in time?

Or maybe just make it stand still.

My new beautiful floors!!!

My husband did such an awesome job!

Library Before&After

My library has a new floor!

And less junk…

In case you did not remember how much junk, here is the before.

There is a beautiful window seat buried under all that stuff.

My husband made it along with all the bookcases(he is so handy) for me.

My new floors!

I did get rid of a lot of junk but some of it is being stored in the shed.

We are redoing the floors in the Master bedroom, hallway, living room, and dining room.

We(by “we” I mean my husband) already did new floors in the boys room. Those pictures will be up later.

I guess the true test will be if all the house can look like this at the same time and I am not just moving stuff from room to room.

The corkboard in the shot below is something I put together. The frame is from our old screen door.

I did not make the cork thick enough though so it was really hard to use push pins on it.

I put picture frame mats on it so I can slide things into place that I want to look at.

I am actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

This is my little craft area.

It is funny because about half an hour after I took these my husband moved the stuff from our bedroom in here so he could start on the new flooring in there…

I tried not to cry.

Can’t really complain when he is working so hard(and fast!) to get all the new floors in.

There are more finishing touches to go in here(it looks kind of empty) but I had to hurry so my husband could get started on our bedroom!

Lots of changes!

It is helping kick me into gear about dejunking our house.

Hopefully I can keep up with my husbands pace!

Library/Storage Closet Before

Since I was a little girl and I first found out that people had a whole room dedicated to books in their house, I have wanted my own library!

I collect books. It’s an odd hobby to some.

I love the feel of an old book, I love to think about who has read it and where it has been, what it has seen.

So the first thing my husband made me when we got married was bookcases.

Have I mentioned how much I love my husband…

We had three bedrooms and no children. So using one of the bedrooms as a library seemed like a perfect idea.

This worked out for a couple years, then we had our first child.

Who would have thought how much STUFF comes with such a tiny little person!

Eventually stuff started drifting into my library and it started to become more of a storage closet then anything else.

I have fought the battle for a couple years now but I am finally willing to admit defeat.

I cannot keep the room as just a library anymore.

We have two little boys and space is at a premium.

We bought Engineered Hardwood Floors for the Library(I will keep calling it that for as long as possible) and are rearranging it so it can be used for other purposes.

Here is a peak at the before(it is best to just think “closet” when you look at the before pictures).

During

My youngest loved the moisture barrier because it was sticky.
