The Girls with the Curls

I was able to take my favorite little curly headed girls to the park with my boys!

She is getting too big.

She is so adorable!

Big sisters are always there to help us go faster.

Hiding from my youngest.

There was a lot of chasing and hiding going on.

Hanging out.

Look at the squirrel!

He was walking with Ava and I heard him saying, “And I lost my dinosaur, I do not know where it is and I cannot find it.” In a very serious voice.

She came over all concerned and asked, “Do you know where Caden’s dinosaur is? He lost it!”

I had to tell her no, she continued to frown and shake her head at the lost toy.

I think he has found a little sympathizer.

“I help, you will not fall.”

She took a break on the blanket and wanted me to tickle her over and over.

I cannot say no to that face.

Justin was there just not in the shot. 4 kids and no tripod = no retakes!

I love that my friend has little girls.

Our Summer Reading Program

I was not 100% happy with the summer reading programs in our area.

They do a good job but I decided I wanted one specific to my boys.

After seeing this post on www.simpleasthatblog.com about making your own reading program, I went for it!

She has free printables but I thought my boys might like to decorate their own log books so I made my own.

The front is really simple, just a place for a name and plenty of room for stickers.

I do not use excel often enough, the inside took me way longer then it should have.

All I did was give them a place to write down their books they have read.

Spiderman was the only superhero we had stickers of.

I was being cheap and not wanting to buy more stickers.

My youngest shocked me when he chose the nature stickers instead of the superhero ones!

I bought two smaller books for halfway prizes (10 books), big books and gummy worms for end prizes (20 books).

My oldest read 10 books the first day.

We went to the library to stock up on more books the next day.

He read 3 books while there…

When we got home he read 7 more.

He read 20 books in two days!

These were all harder books that he has never read before.

It looks like he is taking after me…

Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History

For Father’s day we headed to Oklahoma City to visit the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History.

My husband likes doing things together so I thought it would be a perfect Father’s day outing!

Plus, father’s got in free!!!

It was $5 total for all of us to get in (my boys were free)!

I was not sure what to expect but it was amazing!

Lot’s to see and touch!

My boys loved it!

There was something in every area that the boys could touch or interact with.

And a lot of dinosaurs!

Of course my boys did not care about that part…

Boys do not like dinosaurs, right?

They have an Asian dinosaur exhibit going on right now.

It included a scavanger hunt!

My oldest loved it!

He kept saying, “I am a SCIENTIST!”

My oldest also loved the touch screens.

We all ended up having a good time!

My oldest asked as we were leaving when we could come back again.

I think it was a hit!
