We decided to boondock (or disperse camp) at a Wildlife Management Area in between Quartz Mountain and Witchita Mountains on our most recent trip.
The road in was pretty nail biting(especially in the dark) but we made it to our spot okay.
I was really hoping my camping choice would not cause damage to the camper so I was really relieved that we made it.
The kids loved the spot and found lots of pretty shells.
The spots seclusion and beautiful sunsets were just what I needed.
You will notice the boys are not in many of these pics, I barely see them at the campgrounds. Unless it is time to eat…
They are usually playing games in their tent or playing on tablets.
Guess they are too old for bubbles and singing.

These girls took full advantage of having no one around and sang as loud as they could.
Ha
We had a perfect evening for kite flying!
I loved this beautiful field at sunset.
I don’t know what this face was about but it made me laugh.

Thankful for this spot with nature as far as the eye could see.
And for this man driving a big trailer on crazy roads in the dark.

I had not used this benefit before but sure enough we were able to get in for free to three museums in Albuquerque!
We only went to two of them though.
It does get a limited number only in for free but that worked fine for us since someone always needed to stay with the dog.
This museum had some incredible displays.
I used to worry a bit about visiting places like this as a creationist but have found that I can enjoy it just fine.
I find their theories fascinating and I love to see what they think the area looked like before.
The boys knowledge of dinosaurs and creation science actually far surpass me.

They had an exhibit on the how the brain works also that was interesting.

It is a science/children’s museum and they really liked it!
I really enjoyed the quiet in the vehicle.

Our site might have been a lot of work to get to but it was pretty.

Next we headed towards Texas and got turned away from our next camping spot!
With our local zoo pass we were able to get 50% off our admission!

After the zoo we tried to get to the dispersed camping spot I had found in Cibola National Forest.
We ended up damaging our black tank so even though I liked the site I wish I had not pushed for us to camp there.
It still ended up being a beautiful evening though!
