Top 4 places to see in Oklahoma

1. Gloss Mountain State Park

Gloss Mountain takes my breath away every visit!

You can walk along the top although the trail to get there is pretty steep.

It is worth it though for the view!

2. Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge

This place is so unique and beautiful!

If you go April 1st-October 15th, you can dig for crystals!

Go to their website to find out the rules and more information.

3. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Bison and cattle roam this refuge and they have a prairie dog town!

The scenery is a great reason to visit also though!

So beautiful!

4. Talimena Scenic Drive

I love going on the Talimena Scenic Drive in the fall!

So pretty!

Honorable mentions:

Robbers Cave State Park

Fun climbs with some steep drop-offs.

Fun visit if you have some climbers.

Dripping Springs State Park

Pretty waterfall that you can view from the top or bottom.

I love how tranquil this spot is.

Little Sahara State Park

And so many more!

I love visiting interesting spots in Oklahoma!

Dallas Zoo

Before we headed home from Dallas, we stopped at the Dallas Zoo.

It ended up being a great stop!

We have a local zoo pass that gives us a discount at some other zoo’s and we got 50% off!

That is a big deal when you are paying for 7 entrance fees. The zoo is set up so that you can do loops.

It was nice because we did not have to backtrack much at all and got to see everything in a shorter amount of time! So many of the exhibits were breathtakingly beautiful.

I felt like I was in a different place.

I definitely did not feel like I was still in Texas! It is always nice to wear out your kids before a long drive also… Those hands!!! So cute!

Even though I still felt like my kids needed to run laps by the end of our drive, I am glad that we started our trip home with a visit to this zoo!

I think they were a little tired for at least the first 30mins of driving 😉

Here is a video of our time in Dallas!

Snake Run 2018 ~Turkey Mt.

The Snake Run is a 3 & 6hr race in which you try to get as many miles as you can in that time.

Whoever gets the most miles in each one wins.

It’s a great event, put on by great people!

My kids really enjoy it!

And I really enjoy that it is held at Turkey Mt.

So I can take the kids that are not running for hikes!

These people make running for 3hrs and 6HRS look like fun!

Crazy.

My two that ran did over 9 miles in 3hrs and acted like they had barely done anything.

Maybe we need to buy a treadmill?

They have crazy energy!

A look back at previous Snake Run’s.
