Week 10 ~School and lots of Outside time!

I am still doing a nightly photo project. Sometimes the light is pretty and you just need a model. Wild Allium We watched a video on Hero of Alexandria so we broke out the project we did years ago. It was the first time for the girls and the boys did not remember it so it was fun to break it out again.

I am trying Singapore Math with Little Bit. Still enjoying Super Charged Science.

I think the kids just like that we get to do fun things like make ice cream in the middle of the day!

My oldest girl thought it was too cold. Reading is starting to click for this girl!

Such an exciting time!

Lots of garden watching going on. Little Bit wants to be like her big sister’s. That is one way to cool off 😉 They are still working on what they hope will be a grapevine arbor. We are starting to have days that are just too hot to not play in the water 😉 I am not sure he was happy with his situation…

We ended the week with a hike at The Trails at Collinsville Lake and it was so nice!

Great place to hike.

I feel like this post is already pretty full of pictures though so I will try to do a separate post of our hike.

Are you able to get out and hike in your area?

Week 9

I have not killed everything in my garden!

Not everything has made it though…

I have tried gardening in the past and usually give up in the hot months.

My goal this year is actually make it to fall!

I am still doing a nightly photo project.

Lots of plant watching going on. They made a cable car for Super Charged Science! They modified it a bit to balance better and hold passengers.

Sometimes the boys sneak out when I go outside at night…

I finished this girls hair also!

After several hours of work we finished and she promptly went outside to do gymnastics…

I was hoping she would just want to sit and enjoy her hair for a bit.

Guess not.

Deep Fork Wildlife Refuge ~Okmulgee, Ok

We got out on a hike a little bit ago on one of my favorite spots in our area. Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge. I love the boardwalk trail, so pretty. And the whole walk smelled like honeysuckle this time! We are pretty loud so we usually scare the animals away before we see them. We drove a bit more and went to on the Railroad Trail also, it is such a pretty trail. It is another easy walk. I grabbed Little Bit right before she stepped on this guy. We think he was either a water snake or a cottonmouth. Of course all four of my other kids walked right by him without seeing him… The twins decided to stick a bit closer after that. I don’t know if you can tell but in the above pic we were getting rained on.

It did not last long though.

There were a lot of tadpoles in this puddle by the entrance!

It was a beautiful day!
