I decided that for my oldest boys fourth birthday I would sew him a superhero cape. It sounds easy enough right? I mean I used to sew when I was younger…with my mom right there doing all the hard parts.
Lessons I learned:
1. Sewing is not like riding a bike, you do not just pick it right back up.
2. Sewing machines hate me
3. My son should learn to make his own play clothing from now on
4. Using red thread on navy fabric is really bad idea when you do not know what you are doing
5. You can use something other than red thread to make your two capes stand out(I figured I would use the extra fabric to make his little brother a cape. Not sure about that one now)
6. Deciding not to buy the thimble when working with velcro and polyester is a really bad idea
7. Cardboard is NOT the same as a thimble
I will post a picture after I give it to my son on his birthday, a nice far far away shot.
For now here is my first dripping water shot!
