Lincoln Boyhood Home National Memorial ~Lincoln City, IN

This place managed to get my twins more interested in learning about Abraham Lincoln!

I would say it was a win just for that but it was really interesting also.

When you marry a woodworker, you get a lot of pictures of furniture…

This man was so nice and helpful!

He answered all of my kiddos questions and believe me there were A LOT!

The meat house had a piece of pig hanging in it!

The girls did not want to be in there…

They have actual animals and try to make it look like a working homestead!

I am glad we changed our drive a bit to include this place.

Check out more about it at their site, here.

Maramec Spring Park ~St. James, MO

This is a beautiful park in Missouri!

Maramec Spring Park is not too far outside of St. Louis and a short distance away from Interstate 40.

They have these pools filled with trout!

There were so many, it seemed unreal.

They have beautiful paths for you to walk along the river.

aspringsDSC_6476 aspringsDSC_6483

They have several feeding stations set up also.

Someone was super nice and gave us some quarters they did not need, so we could feed the fish.

aspringsDSC_6485 aspringsDSC_6494

My kids were just searching the ground for fish food people had dropped since we did not bring any quarters.

They had a nice museum to go to.

There was another also but I found we all did better outdoors after being in a vehicle for hours…

The kids really liked this watershed display.

It really rained.

Can’t wait to go there again!
