Spring RV Trip 2018!

We got back from an RV trip to Indiana last Saturday!

Because I am going to be a little while editing, I thought I would share a quick rundown of all the stops!

1st stop is Roubidoux Spring Campground and RV Park, MO!

2nd stop Cohokia, IL (near St. Louis)

3rd stop Turkey Run State Park, IN (we stayed here several nights)

While there we went to my sister in-law’s baby shower and visited with family.

4th stop McCormick’s Creek State Park, IN

5th stop Yellowwood State Forest (we stayed one night)

6th stop Hemlock Cliffs, Hoosier National Forest, IN

7th stop Spring Mill State Park, IN

8th stop Lynnville Park Campground, IN (stayed one night)

9th stop Shawnee National Forest, Garden of the Gods, MO

10th stop Trail of Tears State Park, MO (stayed one night)

11th stop Bollinger Mill, MO

12th stop Big Spring, MO (stayed one night)

13th (and final) stop Wilson’s Creek Battlefield

We saw some amazing sights and had some epic fails!

Can’t wait to share them both with you!

Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge ~Rochert, MN

I am convinced that everything is pretty in Minnesota.

Especially in the fall.

The Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge is another favorite stop when up there.

I am not sure of the name of the hike but it is a pretty one, out to a spillway.

It is between Blackbird Lake and South Chippewa Lake.

Nick’s dad is a bit of a survivalist and knows what things you can eat in the woods.

There were so many swans!

This last trail was pretty funny.

We went on the trail it looped back to the road.

We basically doubled back to our vehicle to get to the platform.

Ha

We headed to Itasca State Park from here!

Shawnee Nation Forest ~Southern Illinois

The Rim Rock Trail in the Shawnee National Forest was nice and easy with some pretty views.

We also saw a snake climbing a tree!

But the winner of Shawnee National Forest for us was definitely the Garden of the Gods Trail!

It had an easy walking path, beautiful views, amazing light because of it being late in the day and…

Climbing!

My kids loved climbing on all the rocks.

He takes his photo bombing seriously…

Even little bit loves to climb.

My kids were like “Path? What path?”

We just had to keep an eye on what was on the other side of their climbs.

Thankfully there were plenty of rocks nowhere near the edge.

This was a huge hit!

So glad we found this beautiful hike!
