Build a plane…sure?

prettyboyblueEver since I made my son a cape he is under the impression that his father and I can make him anything he wants.

An airplane with wings that he can fly in, sure why not? What’s that son? Oh, pretend to fly in.

Then he adds on that it need to have buttons and levers and flames.

Me: Flames?

My boy: not REAL flames, just pretend.

Oh, okay…with my painting ability fake ones don’t seem that much easier.

The funny part is that he keeps adding to the list but he always makes sure to tell you what order he wants it all in.

I am thinking the day is fast approaching that my son is going to see that his parents have limitations!

Like when he asks for a functioning airplane to fly to Minnesota…

Maybe by then we could just buy him one?

History

Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion

I got a chance to go to this event while in Minnesota this past month and I loved it!

I have always loved history. I love to hold old books and think about where they have been and what they have seen! Old house make me feel nostalgic and sad at the same time. Anything to do with history is interesting to me, okay well as long as I am interested in it…

I am odd.

This event was awesome! The smells, the sounds, all I had to do was close my eyes and I was stepping back in time to a logging town a hundred years ago.

I have full intentions of homeschooling my two boys and this is what I want history to be to them! Alive, loud, real!

It changes everything for me when  I actually see something I have only read about. To actually see a battlefield, you can almost feel the fear and the desire to live.

Go out and taste some history.

Back and forth

We just go back from an over 16hour trip to Minnesota! Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery and free babysitting. I did not want to leave!

I did learn a couple things from this car ride though:

1. Always bring a book!!! I would have given my two front teeth for an Austen!

2. Remember that you are actually going to be seeing people as you travel. About two hours into the trip I wanted to change my outfit! When did people start dressing up to travel?

3. Earplugs = Survival and sanity. I really wish I had brought some!

4. There were a lot more! I know there were and I kept thinking these are really important to remember for next time…if only they had some sort of writing instrument to document your thoughts. Maybe they could call it pen and paper.

Oh well, they are gone. I hope they come back to me before it is too late, like mile 300.
