I’m going to miss this.

I made the decision last week to take a picture everyday of my boys doing something they will grow out of.

This was not meant to be a sad thing. I just wanted those things documented.

Like them using the stool in the kitchen (I am constantly having to push it out my way so this helped me see it in a different light).

I will not always have a cowboy superhero riding a bike in my driveway.

One day they will be too old for dress up and tall to use a stool to reach the counter top.

Now I will always be able to look back and remember it.

What moment did your child do today that they will grow out of?

Did you stop and take a moment to remember it?

Sunset at the lake

We started out at a popular park inside the city but there were a lot of people.

It took a lot for me to go at all.

Too many kids and most of them a lot bigger then mine.

The boys wanted to go though, so we stayed for a little bit.

Then we headed outside the city to a nearby lake.

The difference was amazing.

So peaceful.

I always want to turn to my husband and say, “can you imagine living here?”

Then I remember that he pretty much grew up on a lake…

He was also in the Navy.

I did make the mistake of asking once or twice early on in our marriage.

He was polite enough to just smile and not outright laugh at me.

Face paint

I bought face paints for this little man’s birthday and I thought they should be put to good use.

He has been really into the Hulk since hanging out with his little cousin so I asked him if he wanted me to make him the Hulk.

I thought it would be really easy, no problem.

I love his expressions.

What I forgot was, I have two boys and if I paint one’s face I have to do the others.

He is currently into Ironman.

Ironman is not as easy as the Hulk…

He kept twitching his nose when I was drawing the lines!
