Library/Storage Closet Before

Since I was a little girl and I first found out that people had a whole room dedicated to books in their house, I have wanted my own library!

I collect books. It’s an odd hobby to some.

I love the feel of an old book, I love to think about who has read it and where it has been, what it has seen.

So the first thing my husband made me when we got married was bookcases.

Have I mentioned how much I love my husband…

We had three bedrooms and no children. So using one of the bedrooms as a library seemed like a perfect idea.

This worked out for a couple years, then we had our first child.

Who would have thought how much STUFF comes with such a tiny little person!

Eventually stuff started drifting into my library and it started to become more of a storage closet then anything else.

I have fought the battle for a couple years now but I am finally willing to admit defeat.

I cannot keep the room as just a library anymore.

We have two little boys and space is at a premium.

We bought Engineered Hardwood Floors for the Library(I will keep calling it that for as long as possible) and are rearranging it so it can be used for other purposes.

Here is a peak at the before(it is best to just think “closet” when you look at the before pictures).

During

My youngest loved the moisture barrier because it was sticky.

Winter fun!

I thought I would share a couple of my favorite pictures from our recent trip to Indiana for Christmas.

The boys had so much fun playing in the snow! They were pretty disappointed when we came home to the same snow less landscape that we had left.

I am hoping we get some snow for them to play in.

Okay, mostly I just want it to snow so I can take pictures…

I think my two look like little Eskimos.

My cutie little nephew!

I want this framed in my house.

I do not know exactly why but I love it a lot!

I think it would be awesome in the boys room.

I think it says “Boys in the Winter”, playing, laughing and having fun.

That’s what snow is all about.

That and making fresh ice cream…

I need it to snow now.
