He finished it up on the weekend!

He got the plans from The New Yankee Workshop, here.

Ours looks different because I wanted him to leave the live edge(the bark) wherever possible.

    A sunny weekend

    Wednesday, March 4th, 2015

These pics make me laugh since it is currently raining, and they are calling for freezing rain and snow.

But a few weeks ago we had very warm weather and my husband started building me an Adirondack loveseat!

If you follow me on Instagram then you have already seen a peak at it.

    plans

He is building it so that I have a place to sit while watching the boys play on the zipline and fort.

He found a local man that was selling lumber he had cut himself into slabs.

    base

    It is beautiful cedar.

While my husband was making all of this progress at the dry fit(he will take it all apart and glue it together after he is done making sure it all works), my boys were doing something a little less productive…

After they got good and dirty, they decided to try their hand at leaf carving.

I love it when they get really close to each other and doing something like this.

It is easier to take pictures of them when they are not running around like crazy.

I will miss dirty hands, faces, and knees, especially ones sticking out of torn jeans.

The new table he built me!

    Monday, September 30th, 2013

schoolroomThis little table was just not cutting it anymore.

The boys could not both do workbooks on it at the same time without getting into fights about the other one messing them up by hitting their work.

Plus their math takes a lot of room and things kept falling to the floor.

So my awesome husband built me a new one this weekend!

panelsHe had me pick out the top I wanted at Lowes.

    I chose two pine panels.

joinerThen he joined the panels together.

pocketjig legsHe used lumber he already had for the legs.

sealThen I put a couple coats of a water based sealer on it.

He attached the top when I was done sealing it.

tabletopI love the clean and simple look.

holderWe can actually fit the caddy he made me years ago on it!

I cannot wait to start school today and try it out!

    Handy husbands are awesome!
