Pleasant Valley Farms Winter Squash and Pumpkin Festival~Sand Springs, OK

Pumpkin patches are such a fun cheap way to entertain kids!

I do not remember this being a thing when I was a kid.

Of course a trip to the pumpkin patch meant my mom’s garden…

This is our third year going to the Pleasant Valley Farms Winter Squash and Pumpkin Festival in Sand Springs and I still like it. It is a quiet out in the middle of the country kind of place and the drive alone is worth it. We don’t really do a bunch of things that cost money at these places.

But there is always something fun to do for free.

This place always has fun games for the kids to play. Rubber duck races. Corn bin. Bull riding/bouncing? Watching someone chuck a pumpkin. This one even has a small maze that is free.

They have animals also which is always fun for my poor non farm kids 😉

Are you a pumpkin patch fan?

This is a fun event, you should check it out next year or check out their pumpkin patch this year!

Pumpkin Patch

I decided to check out our local pumpkin patch early in the month to see if it was more my speed(I don’t like crowds). We practically had the place to ourselves! It was so much easier to keep track of my kids with no crowd. I like this pumpkin patch because it has a bunch of animals the kids can feed for a very reasonable price. I love that they have made it so easy for families to come and enjoy some fall fun. Some of the goats were super aggressive on this trip which caused some problems with some of my kids. They don’t all handle aggressive behavior well. But look at this cuteness!

They always have lots of babies!

My twins will spend half their time picking up the feed that others have spilled. Llamas always crack me up. They got to help move and feed the tortoises!

Of course I was super worried that Little Bit would drop it!

Thanks Carmichael’s Pumpkin Patch for a fun morning!

Shepherd’s Cross has a really pretty farm with friendly people.

We went to their pumpkin patch while we had a friend staying with us two weeks ago.

This is a running farm so I do believe they have electric fences going, so be careful with little ones.

My strategy when we have extra kids around?

All the fun things possible.

As little downtime as we can manage.

HA

So, of course, I did quick face paint before we went.

They have a lot of free things to do, including games and a hay maze.
