Evening light, Little Birds, and Oak Trees

oaktreeAs I stepped out our front door the other evening, I was in awe with the beautiful light.

Then I saw a little bird fly off.

littlebirdI decided to sit down and wait to see if I could get some shots of birds.

birdsThere is something very restful about waiting and watching as the light slowly fades away.

I used to spend a lot of my evenings as a teenager watching the sunset.

I would sit on a little hill by the road and watch the sun disappear over my neighbors pond.

I wonder if that is why it has such an effect on me.

It is like I take a big breath when I get to see one and feel I have ended my day right.

  1. I love mornings, but I love the light at evening best. It’s getting a little harder to catch it, though, because the sun goes down later and later 😀 I love your first photo! And the ones you have of you and the boys–what a treasure.

    1. Thank you! I think I like mornings because it is usually really quiet and I get to watch the house slowly get light. Evenings are usually pretty loud around here 🙂
